Our hands are one of the first parts of the body to show the signs of age. Brown spots, loss of fat, and veins are common signs that result from both environmental factors and the aging process. A complete hand rejuvenation treatment, which starts off with specialised laser to improve blemishes on the hand, can be followed by collagen stimulator to restore your hands to a more youthful appearance.
The purposes of the fillers are to plump up the skin surrounding the bony and veiny areas to create a more youthful looking hand. Bio-stimulators are most commonly used for hand rejuvenation. They are composed of microspheres in a biocompatible gel, made from the same minerals found in human bones and therefore carries little risk of allergic reaction. This injectable filler provides immediate results and typically lasts for 12-24 months.
Liquid facelift utilises a specialised form of bio-stimulator that works subtly and gradually over time for a more youthful-looking appearance. Unlike hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, Bio-stimulator works by stimulating your skin’s own natural collagen production to help restore its inner structure and increase facial volume that has been lost to aging.1-3 Bio-stimulator injection is intended for use in people with healthy immune systems as a one-time treatment regimen of up to four injection sessions that are scheduled about three weeks apart
Non-surgical facial contouring options, often referred to as the liquid face lift, can reduce noticeable signs of aging. The passage of time, the wear of gravity and fluctuation of weight effect facial aging. Fine lines and wrinkles may become noticeable, and as skin loses its youthful elasticity, you may notice sagging in the mid face and jowls. Beginning signs of aging can be treated easily and with nearly zero downtime compared to more advanced stages of aging which may require a full-face lift. For beginning signs of aging, however, a non-surgical face lift can address your concerns and achieve long-term results without the risk, recovery or scarring of traditional surgery.
With time, our face tends to age in a predictable manner. In general, there is a loss of the fullness and roundness of the facial contours of youth, resulting in a flattened or sunken appearance to facial structures. When we are young, our skin is smooth and wrinkle free, our face is voluptuous and round, just like a fresh plum. As we age, our face loses volume. Resembling a dried up prune, our soft tissues lose their inherent resiliency and ability to resist stretch, resulting in sagging under the effects of gravity and wrinkles.
Botulinum toxin is a naturally occurring protein that was first discovered in the 1800s. It has since established itself as an answer to some of the most common complaints of ageing. According to some opinions, botulinum toxin is one of the greatest advancements in recent cosmetic medicine. It is extremely safe and effective in not only removing fine lines and wrinkles, but also improving ones facial contour and addresses eye shape in a matter of days without the need for surgery. It can be used for a myriad of indications including
Are age spots getting you down? For those of us who’ve spent too much time in the sun, signs of premature aging may be more prominent than we’d like. But there’s an easy way to refresh your skin. Laser treatment can clear away skin discoloration and unwanted pigment to reveal more beautiful skin and give you a more revitalized appearance.
People with acne scars suffer from a relatively common condition, specifically depressed, hollowed out indentations of the skin following inflammatory acneiform (pimple) eruptions. Deep cystic acne and aggravated outbreaks of pimples, either in adolescence or in adulthood, can result in significant damage to the many structures of the skin, including loss of collagen elastin and support substances. This loss of important structure to the skin can result in localized depressions, indentations and “craters” called acne scars. Acne scars can be very small, narrow indentations and pits called “ice pick scars” or they can be broader based, wider and more distensible depressions, called “rolling hill” acne scars. There can be a hereditary predisposition to acne and the treatment of acne, as well as the acne scars, should be addressed.
Skinboosters treatments create luminous skin in a natural way by gently and naturally smoothening the skin from the inside. It works by increasing the hydration within the skin to provide lasting moisture and improve the skin’s surface.
Each treatment involves a series of hydrating microinjections of long-lasting hyaluronic acid, also called stabilised HA, a water-loving substance found naturally in the body that maintains hydration in the skin.
Stabilised HA is a soft, gel-like substance that absorbs water and brings deep skin hydration to the treated areas, giving it improved firmness, elasticity and smoothness.
As we age, our skin becomes thinner and more lax, muscles weaken, and natural fat stores can slip from their youthful position. Around the eyes, lax skin and displaced fat can cause puffiness and bulging, as well as “bags” and hollowing under the eyes. Excess skin can droop over the upper lashes and — in some cases — may even impair vision. As a result, the entire face may appear tired, careworn, and older. Eyelid surgery (also called an eyelift or blepharoplasty) can minimize the signs of aging around the eyes by addressing excess skin and prominent fat in the upper lids, lower lids, or both. Minimally invasive options include anti-wrinkle injection, temporary dermal fillers, fat grafting, or laser skin resurfacing. Surgical techniques can remove excess loose skin; reposition, re-drape, or remove bulging fat; correct bagging and hollowing; and restore the eyes to their natural, youthful contours.
As part of the natural aging process, people gradually lose some of the underlying fat stores that help to give our skin youthful fullness and volume. When collagen production slows and natural fat is depleted, we begin to see changes that can make us look tired and older. In the face, cheeks begin to look hollowed, facial lines and wrinkles form, and the lips become thinner. Loss of soft tissue volume in the hands can make veins look more prominent, while the skin becomes loose and wrinkled. Natural fat grafting, also known as fat transfer, can help restore youthful volume and reduce the signs of aging in the face, lips, and hands. Fat grafting may also be used to enhance and augment volume in other areas of the body, such as the buttocks and breasts, as well as to correct irregularities or defects from previous liposuction, reconstruction, or other cosmetic procedures.
Ultherapy® is a system manufactured by Ulthera, Inc. that uses micro-focused ultrasound to tighten and lift skin. Ultherapy produces an image of the skin and underlying connective tissue so the physician can deliver targeted energy under the surface of the skin with the optimal depth, temperature and precision necessary to generate new collagen and to tighten and lift the skin. Ultherapy stimulates collagen generation and tightens the connective tissue at a deeper level than other non-surgical treatments. This can result in higher eyebrows, a tighter jaw line, and smoother neck. Recent evidence shows efficacy for skin tightening in additional treatment sites such as the chest, abdomen, arms and knees. Ultherapy is the only machine approved by FDA to lift skin on the lower face, neck and brow.
- Reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles
- More defined jaw line and neck lift
- Lifting of the brow line and reduce fine lines
- Improvement in the nasolabial folds
- Usually only one treatment is required
The Silhouette Soft Lift Thread Lift is a new procedure designed to lift the skin of the face and neck. The Thread lift procedure has sometimes been dubbed the ‘one stitch facelift’, although this is technically inaccurate since we normally use two or three stitches on each side of the face / neck to achieve optimal results.
The procedure can be used to lift any part of the face, including the forehead, cheeks, jowls, jawline and neck. In practice, Tracey Bell finds the stitches to be most useful in the lower face and neck, where other non-surgical techniques usually provide less satisfying results.
The Thread lift can be used alone or can be used in combination with other non-surgical treatments.
