Mole Removal Sydney
Mole Laser Removal
If you are concerned about a raised mole, a prominent facial mole, or a benign-looking mole that catches on clothing or affects appearance, our doctor-led team offers personalised assessment and mole removal options in Sydney.
Not every mole is suitable for the same removal method. If a mole is new, changing, irregular, bleeding, crusting, growing, or looks different from your other moles, doctor assessment is important before removal is considered.
At Medical Aesthetics 360, we focus on careful assessment first, followed by an appropriate treatment pathway based on the type of mole, its location, and your cosmetic and healing goals.
If you are considering mole removal, you can book an assessment with one of our experienced doctors.
We offer:
- Two convenient clinic locations — Chatswood and Hurstville
- More than 10 years of clinical experience
- State-of-the-art laser technology, including medical-grade Erbium:YAG and CO₂ systems
- A careful, medically guided approach prioritising correct diagnosis and safe, effective treatment
Our doctors will assess your lesion, advise whether removal is appropriate, and discuss the best treatment method for your skin type and concerns.
Which treatment option is suitable?
Modern removal methods often use advanced medical lasers such as Erbium:YAG or CO₂. These devices allow controlled removal of unwanted superficial growths while minimising damage to surrounding tissue.
Our experienced clinicians use advanced laser technology to safely and effectively remove moles without the need of surgery. These treatments precisely target the skin tag, using controlled laser energy to break down the tissue while promoting healthy skin renewal. This approach helps to leave the skin clear and damage-free with minimal discomfort and downtime.
Mole removal is not one-size-fits-all. Depending on the lesion type, one of several approaches may be considered. For selected benign-looking raised lesions, a carefully chosen removal method may help improve appearance while aiming for neat healing. In other cases, an excision-based or medical pathway may be more appropriate.
The recommended approach depends on:
whether the mole appears benign
whether it is flat or raised
its colour and depth
the body area involved
your healing and scar risk
whether tissue assessment may be needed
A consultation with our team will help determine the best treatment for your needs.
Is there any downtime?
Healing is usually smooth and predictable.
Immediately after treatment, the area may look lightly abraded, slightly raw, pink, and feel tender for a short time.
Days 1–7: mild scabbing and dryness are common, similar to a superficial abrasion. Let the scab fall off naturally and avoid picking to reduce the risk of scarring.
After the scab falls off, new skin may appear pink or red, slightly sensitive, and still in the early stage of collagen remodelling. This is normal and gradually settles.
Over the following weeks to months, pinkness fades, the mark becomes less noticeable, collagen reorganises, and the skin texture continues to blend with the surrounding tissue.
Scarring risk is low, but not zero. Most patients achieve a very good cosmetic result with a smoother, flatter surface and noticeable improvement, although no treatment can guarantee a perfect outcome.
Aftercare may include scar gel, sun protection, simple daily wound care, and avoiding irritation while the skin heals.
What is the cost for this treatment?
Our highly personalised level of service means that we’ll tailor a treatment plan to suit your specific needs, skin concerns, and desired results. As a result, treatment pricing will vary from patient to patient.
During your initial consultation, one of our trained doctors will conduct an assessment of your skin, discuss your situation, and develop a customised plan for your treatment. This will include a detailed breakdown of costs, timeframes and what to expect.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q) Can all moles be removed cosmetically?
No. Some moles may require medical assessment first, especially if they are changing, irregular or otherwise suspicious.
Q) Does mole removal hurt?
Comfort measures depend on the method used. Local anaesthetic may be used where appropriate.
Q) Will mole removal leave a scar?
One of the advantages of laser treatments for skin tag removal is that there is typically no to very minimal scarring compared than traditional surgical removal methods.
Laser Removal for Moles, Skin Tags, Warts, Lumps & Bumps
Modern removal methods often use advanced medical lasers such as Erbium:YAG or CO₂.
These devices allow controlled removal of unwanted superficial growths while minimising damage to surrounding tissue.
Erbium:YAG Laser (Preferred for High Precision)
Erbium:YAG laser is considered the gold standard for delicate and precise lesion removal because it:
- Removes tissue layer by layer in microns (a thousandth of a millimetre)
- Generates minimal heat
- Reduces risk of collateral damage
- Allows smooth blending with surrounding skin
- Provides predictable healing
This makes it ideal for:
- Facial moles
- Small raised bumps
- Skin tags
- Superficial keratoses
CO₂ Laser
CO₂ is also widely used and effective for:
- Thicker lesions
- Larger skin tags
- Fibrous bumps
- Certain types of warts
Your doctor will choose the laser type based on:
- Lesion type
- Depth
- Location
- Skin type
- Safety considerations
Because each lesion is different tissue, the precise treatment must match the biology of the growth.
Healing After Laser Removal: What to Expect
Healing is typically smooth and predictable.
- Immediately After Treatment
The area may appear:
- Lightly abraded
- Slightly raw
- Pink
- Tender for a short period
- Days 1–7: Mild Scabbing Phase
Most patients experience:
- Light scabbing
- Dryness
- A healing appearance similar to a superficial abrasion
The scab will fall off naturally. Avoid picking to reduce the risk of scarring.
- After the Scab Falls: Pink New Skin
Under the scab, fresh new skin appears:
- Pink or reddish
- Slightly sensitive
- In the early stage of collagen remodelling
This is normal and gradually settles.
- Weeks to Months: Blending and Refinement
During this period:
- Mild pinkness fades
- The mark becomes less noticeable
- Collagen reorganises
- Skin texture blends with surrounding tissue
Risk of Scarring
The risk is low but real.
Most people achieve:
- A very good cosmetic result
- A smoother, flatter surface
- A significant improvement
While perfect outcomes cannot be guaranteed, modern lasers offer excellent precision and natural-looking results.
Aftercare Support
To optimise healing, your doctor may recommend:
- Scar gel to reduce redness
- Sun protection to prevent pigmentation
- Simple daily wound care
- Avoiding irritation during the healing phase
