Ideal Candidates for Sofwave Treatments

Sofwave is designed for all skin types and tones. The ideal candidate for Sofwave treatment is over 30 years old and is experiencing mild to moderate skin aging. If you are experiencing some sagging in facial or neck skin or would like to pursue a non-invasive treatment for lines and wrinkles, you might be an ideal candidate.

Wrinkles, lines, and sagging skin are influenced by the depletion of collagen and elastin caused by aging, which means people who are experiencing these features of the aging process will get the most from the procedure. The energy-based Sofwave treatment will be tolerated well by most patients, but your suitability will be discussed during a consultation about your personal skin history and ideal outcomes.

Immediately prior to the treatment, topical anesthetic treatments are often applied to the skin. It will take a few minutes for the numbing to take effect.

An ultrasound receptive gel will then be applied to the area, and the Sofwave handpiece will be moved over the skin’s surface, transmitting the heat over the skin. Comfort levels may vary from patient to patient. You may experience a warm sensation, but the integrated cooling system protects the skin and ensures no damage to the underlying structures.

For the full face region, a treatment will usually take 30-45 minutes. Most common areas of treatment are the brow, chin, cheeks, and neck areas. The duration of the procedure will depend on which areas are targeted.

No specific skin treatment is required following the procedure. Some patients experience mild swelling, sensitivity, and numbness for a few days. In rare cases, the swelling may last up to a week. However, most patients are able to continue their normal activities immediately and resume daily skincare straight away, no downtime necessary. Clinical trials show that the treatment has minimal risk.

Further sessions may be required to achieve optimal results. Typically, treatment will be 1-2 sessions, but this will depend on individual goals as well as the severity of skin issues and concerns. Each session is aimed at improving skin texture to create a tighter and more youthful appearance.
