Story
For this uni student, the concern was very clear from the beginning — she felt her face looked too round, lacked projection, and carried fullness under the chin that made her look heavier than she felt.
What bothered her most was the double chin. Even at certain angles where the rest of her features looked soft and balanced, the area under the chin made her feel less defined and less confident in photos. She wanted a more sculpted look, a cleaner jawline, and better lower-face definition overall. In her words, she did not want to look “fat-looking” through the lower face and wanted the double chin reduced as the main priority.
At consultation, our doctors carefully assessed the lower face, chin projection, jawline shape, skin quality, and the degree and pattern of submental fullness. Different treatment approaches were discussed depending on anatomy, recovery, comfort, and desired pace of change.
Options discussed included HIFU as a non-invasive option that may provide visible support over time, RF-based treatment for comfort-focused skin tightening and contour support, injection-based fat-dissolving treatment, and FaceTite, which involves local anaesthetic and tissue contouring through heat-based fat reduction and tightening. As always, suitability depended on individual assessment rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
For her, speed of result was important. She wanted to see change sooner rather than later, and after discussion of the options, a combination approach was chosen to target the submental fullness more effectively. The goal was not to make her look dramatically different, but to create a cleaner transition from chin to neck, better jawline definition, and a more sculpted lower-face profile.
What she appreciated most was that the plan was built around what mattered to her most — reducing the double chin first, then improving overall contour in a way that still looked natural and suited her features.
Visible Results
At review, the lower face appeared more refined, with a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. The transition from chin to neck looked cleaner, and the jawline appeared more defined and more sculpted.
Compared with before, the side profile looked less heavy through the submental area, helping the face appear slimmer and better balanced overall. The improvement in lower-face contour also helped create a stronger sense of projection and definition, even though the result still looked natural and in keeping with her age and features.
Most importantly, the patient was very happy with the change. The result addressed her main concern — the double chin — while also supporting a more polished and confident overall profile.
