Understanding the treatment
What is non-surgical rhinoplasty?
Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a term for approaches intended to make temporary changes to the appearance of the nose. It is also described as a non-surgical nose lift or nose reshaping. Unlike surgical rhinoplasty, it does not reshape the nasal bones or cartilage. A consultation assesses whether your concern can be addressed within those limits. You may also encounter the terms nose enhancement and nose augmentation; they do not identify one standard procedure, so ask exactly what approach is being discussed.
That difference is important. Adding support in one area may make the profile appear straighter or more balanced, but it cannot physically make the nose smaller. Your plan should be based on the change you want, what your anatomy allows and the limits of each option—not on a promise of a particular procedure.
Nose enhancement and nose augmentation: clarify the goal
Bring the change you have in mind, such as bridge definition or profile balance. The term “nose augmentation” does not mean the nose will be made smaller. The extent of change and whether it involves a non-surgical approach or surgical assessment should be made clear during your consultation.
It may help with
- A low or less-defined bridge, where the anatomy is suitable
- A small bump or uneven contour along the bridge
- Certain concerns about tip support or projection
- Minor asymmetry or imbalance between the front and side views
- Subtle refinement when you do not currently want surgery
It cannot do
- Make the nasal bones physically smaller or narrower
- Correct a major deviation or significant structural asymmetry
- Treat nasal obstruction or breathing difficulty
- Provide the same degree of change or permanence as surgical rhinoplasty
- Guarantee a particular shape from a reference photograph
