Three-dimensional imaging found small vertical changes at several facial landmarks, approximately 0.5 to 0.63 mm in the lateral periorbital measurements at selected follow-ups.
Nasolabial-fold ratings and pore scores also improved at three and six months. The study reported transient redness and swelling, but it had no untreated control group and a very small sample. It supports the possibility of early and mid-term improvement; it does not establish equivalence to a surgical facelift or predict how every patient will respond.
Practical interpretation: Fotona 4D is best described as layered laser rejuvenation with potential for subtle tightening, smoother texture and softer folds. The evidence does not justify promises of dramatic lifting or restored facial volume.
