Ultherapy Sydney

Why choose Ultherapy

It’s only natural for the underlying structures of the face to change with age. The result is fine lines, wrinkles, general skin sagging and undefined facial contours.

There are a number of non-invasive treatments available that can effectively treat the most common signs of ageing, Ultherapy being one of the most popular. Ultherapy treatments are currently conducted in close to 100 countries and are both safe and effective.

Ultherapy uses ultrasound technology to stimulate collagen production, resulting in a tighter, smoother appearance over the course of several months. The fact that these changes take place at a deeper level, creates a long-lasting and noticeable difference.

As the applicator is applied to the target area, it emits high-frequency sound waves that penetrate and affect the epidermal layer of the skin. This gradually tightens and lifts the skin, while also improving skin tone over time.

No downtime is required after an Ultherapy session.

Ideal Candidate for Ultherapy?

Patients who are concerned about minor to medium skin laxity could be ideal candidates for Ultherapy sessions. It’s also the preferred treatment for those who don’t want to undergo a surgical facelift just yet. Your medical history and level of skin laxity will need to be taken into account before you can be cleared for Ultherapy treatments. A personalised recommendation and treatment plan will be discussed during your consultation.

Prior to an Ultherapy treatment, patients should refrain from taking medications and supplements that could thin the blood. Certain medications can lead to excess bruising and bleeding during and after your treatment. The treated area should also ideally be free of makeup and any skincare products.

Once you are cleared for treatment based on your medical history and a thorough skin evaluation, a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area to prevent any discomfort.

Before the applicator is applied to the face and neck, the Ultherapy system creates a visual representation of the tissue planes underneath the skin. The deeper tissue layers are then targeted with ultrasound technology, which stimulates collagen production and creates a long-lasting rejuvenating effect.

One Ultherapy session is usually enough but since every patient responds differently to treatment, multiple sessions may be required. Each session usually takes about 90 minutes to complete. If you won’t be treating both the face and neck, treatment time is shortened.

Since this is a non-invasive treatment, patients are free to return to work or their usual activities directly after an Ultherapy appointment – this includes exercise. You may reapply makeup to the treated area, provided it won’t irritate your skin – mineral makeup is the best choice. It’s also highly recommended that you avoid tanning and direct sun exposure for two weeks after treatment.

Patients can expect some redness and mild swelling across the treated area but this will subside over the next few days.

Ultherapy sessions can be used to treat an array of concerns and areas, including:

  • Sagging Brow – Lift the brow area to look more refreshed and awake.
  • Eye Wrinkles – Reduce or eliminate the appearance of crow’s feet and laugh lines.
  • Undefined Jawline – Reduce the appearance of lines around the mouth and create a more defined jawline by eliminating jowls.
  • Neck and Decolletage – Smooth out the skin on the neck and upper chest for a more youthful appearance.
  • Thighs, Arms & Knees – Sagging skin is a common issue across these knees, thighs and arms. However, Ultherapy can be used to reduce skin laxity, particularly after weight loss or pregnancy.

Patience is required as an Ultherapy patient since results are not as immediate as those of a facelift. Following the session, the skin begins to change and heal from the inside out. As collagen levels increase, the effects start to become more noticeable. Patients can expect a tight feeling after treatment that will last for up to 24 hours. In most instances, results become apparent after two to three months. The good news is that gradual improvements will continue occurring over the course of six months as the skin becomes more elastic. Depending on the results you want to achieve, Ultherapy may need to be combined with additional non-surgical treatments.
