Story
When she came to Medical Aesthetics 360, her main concern was the deepening lines between her brows — the frown lines often known as the “11s.”
She was a lovely lady in her 40s who felt these lines were starting to affect more than just her appearance. Even when she felt calm and approachable, she noticed that the area between her brows could sometimes make her look tense, serious, or even angry. Over the past couple of years, she had also seen the lines becoming deeper and more noticeable, particularly in certain lighting and in photos.
What she wanted was not to look different. She simply wanted to look softer, more refreshed, and more like how she felt on the inside.
During her consultation, Dr Suzanna Luo performed a full doctor-led assessment of the upper face, including muscle movement, resting expression, skin quality, and the depth and pattern of the lines. This discussion was important, because frown lines are often easier to address earlier, before they become more deeply etched at rest.
Dr Luo explained that when these lines are repeatedly formed over time, they can become more established and may eventually require a broader treatment discussion depending on the individual presentation. For this reason, early assessment and personalised planning can be valuable for patients who are starting to notice the lines becoming more fixed.
For her, this was reassuring. She appreciated that the consultation was focused not just on the lines themselves, but on prevention, facial harmony, and maintaining a natural result. A tailored doctor-led treatment plan was recommended with the aim of softening the frown area while preserving normal expression and avoiding an overdone appearance.
Visible Results
At review, the frown area appeared noticeably softer and more relaxed. The lines between the brows looked less prominent, and her overall expression appeared fresher, calmer, and more open.
Importantly, the result still looked natural. Rather than changing her features, the treatment helped reduce the harshness that the deeper frown lines had started to create. She looked less stern and less tired, while still looking completely like herself.
This case highlights how doctor-led treatment of the glabella area can support a smoother, more approachable upper-face appearance, particularly when the concern is addressed before lines become more deeply set over time.
