Undereyes Threads

Under-Eye PDO Threads in Chatswood & Hurstville, Sydney

Improve skin quality, reduce crepiness, and refresh tired-looking eyes

The under-eye area is one of the thinnest and most delicate regions of the face, often showing early signs of ageing such as crepey skin, fine lines, and a tired appearance.

At Medical Aesthetics 360°, we offer under-eye PDO thread treatments in Chatswood and Hurstville, designed to improve skin quality, stimulate collagen, and strengthen fragile under-eye skin—rather than simply lifting.

What Can Under-Eye PDO Threads Treat?

This treatment is best suited for improving skin texture and quality, including:

  • Crepey or thin under-eye skin
  • Fine lines and early wrinkles
  • Poor skin elasticity
  • Dehydrated or fragile skin
  • Tired-looking under-eye appearance

By improving skin thickness and structure, the under-eye area appears smoother, healthier, and more refreshed.

How Under-Eye PDO Threads Work

PDO (polydioxanone) mono threads are placed superficially within the skin to stimulate natural regeneration.

Key mechanisms:

  1. Collagen Stimulation (Primary Effect)
    • Activates fibroblasts to produce new collagen
    • Gradually thickens the skin
    • Improves elasticity and resilience
  2. Skin Quality Improvement
    • Enhances hydration and skin texture
    • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and crepiness
    • Improves overall skin integrity

Unlike lifting threads, mono threads are designed to rejuvenate the skin itself, not reposition tissue.

Why Skin Thickness Matters in the Under-Eye Area

Under-eye concerns are often caused by thin, translucent skin, which:

  • Makes dark circles appear more visible
  • Creates a crepey or wrinkled texture
  • Reduces the skin’s ability to reflect light smoothly

By improving skin thickness and quality, PDO threads help:

  • Reduce visible shadowing
  • Smooth out fine lines
  • Restore a healthier, more youthful appearance

Undereye thread lifting: What you need to know

The undereye area tends to be an instant giveaway of our true age. From undereye bags that make us look worn and tired to sagging skin and crow’s feet that result in an aged appearance, this is a key area that can add years to our face.

If you’re self-conscious about undereye bags, sagging skin and wrinkles, undereye thread lifting is the perfect anti-ageing solution that lets you wind back the clock without going under the surgeon’s knife.

By carefully targeting the undereye area, our clinical doctors use special dissolvable PDO threads that create a scaffolding structure below the skin. This produces a noticeable lifting effect that gets rid of undereye bags, smooths out wrinkles, and lifts tired, sagging skin.

What’s more, PDO threads stimulate collagen production for long-lasting lifting results that continue for up to two years.

Here’s what to expect when you visit one of our state-of-the-art clinics for your undereye thread lifting treatment:

  1. Following an initial assessment, we’ll cleanse your skin and apply a numbing agent to help you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout your session.
  2. One of our clinical experts will then insert our premium-grade, TGA-approved PDO threads below the skin surface in the undereye area. These threads are entirely safe for internal use and are naturally dissolvable.
  3. And that’s it! Once your session is over, you can safely return to work without any disruption.

By addressing visible signs of ageing around the eyes, undereye thread lifting is one of the most effective ways to achieve a more youthful, vibrant appearance that revives and refreshes your entire face.

Undereye thread lifting is a safe, minimally-invasive and highly-effective treatment for undereye skin rejuvenation, addressing common signs of ageing in the eye area, including:

  • Undereye bags
  • Crow’s feet
  • Drooping eyelids
  • Sagging skin around the eyes
  • Undereye lines and wrinkles

Frequently
Asked
Questions

Q) How does undereye thread lifting work?

PDO threads are made from a special dissolvable material that’s inserted under the skin. Once inserted, the threads provide a scaffolding structure that lifts, tightens and revitalises the undereye area. In addition, PDO threads stimulate collagen production for ongoing lifting results.

The threads will slowly dissolve over the course of six months, leaving behind a network of collagen fibres to promote ongoing skin tightening for the next 12-24 months.

Results from PDO thread lifting are immediate. However, as you may notice some mild swelling in the treated area, optimal results will be seen once this subsides over the next few days.

Most patients experience no more than mild discomfort during their thread lifting procedure. We’ll apply a numbing cream to minimise any sensation, as well as ice packs to reduce the risk of bruising or swelling.

Some patients will experience mild swelling or bruising for a few days after treatment, which will subside on its own.

Our highly personalised level of service means that we’ll tailor a treatment plan to suit your specific needs, skin concerns, and desired results. As a result, treatment pricing will vary from patient to patient.

During your initial consultation, one of our trained doctors will conduct an assessment of your skin, discuss your situation, and develop a customised plan for your treatment. This will include a detailed breakdown of costs, timeframes and what to expect.
