Case Study
Neck Skin Tag Removal for Multiple Recurrent Lesions with Erbium YAG Laser
Story
This patient had a long history of skin tags around the neck. At one stage, there had been hundreds of small lesions, many of which had been treated previously. By the time she presented to us, the number had reduced significantly, but a few larger and more noticeable skin tags remained. These continued to catch on clothing and jewellery, and she still felt self-conscious when wearing open-neck tops or tying her hair up.
Although she had dealt with the problem before, the remaining lesions stood out more because they were larger and more visible. She wanted a treatment option that was precise, hygienic, and suitable for targeting the tags cleanly while aiming to reduce unnecessary trauma to the surrounding skin.
After assessment, our doctor recommended Erbium YAG laser treatment for neck skin tags. This approach was chosen for its ability to precisely target raised lesions and support a smoother finish. Given the visible location, the treatment plan also incorporated scar-minimising methods to help the skin recover as neatly as possible.
Visible Results
Following treatment, the remaining prominent neck skin tags were removed, leaving the skin looking clearer and more even in texture. The neckline appeared less cluttered and visually smoother, helping the patient feel more comfortable in everyday situations. For someone who had previously lived with a large number of skin tags, removing the final larger lesions made a noticeable difference to the overall appearance of the neck and helped the area look cleaner, tidier, and easier to manage.
