First 4 hours
Keep it clean and calm
Leave the treated skin alone. Avoid makeup and products unless your practitioner applied or recommended them. Do not press, rub or inspect the tiny entry points with your fingers.
Your clear recovery guide
Juvelook combines PDLLA with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Keep the first few days simple, gentle and consistent while the skin settles.
✓ Most early swelling and bumps settle over several days.
○ Bruising can take 1–2 weeks to fade.
↗ Results build gradually—not overnight.
The essentials
First 4 hours
Leave the treated skin alone. Avoid makeup and products unless your practitioner applied or recommended them. Do not press, rub or inspect the tiny entry points with your fingers.
First 24–48 hours
Skip strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot baths and anything that noticeably heats or flushes your face. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Sleep with a clean pillowcase and your head slightly raised if you are puffy.
Days 1–3
If your injector has asked you to massage, use clean finger pads and gentle, even circles: 3 minutes, 3 times a day, for 3 days. Never apply hard pressure and do not massage the eyelids unless specifically shown how.
Days 1–7
Use a gentle cleanser, simple moisturiser and broad-spectrum SPF 50. Pause retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs and strong active skincare. Delay facials, lasers, radiofrequency, ultrasound and vigorous facial massage until your clinic clears you.
What you may notice
Your skin has had multiple small injections. A little redness, puffiness, tenderness and texture are expected early on.
The temporary hydration or puffiness you see straight away is not the final result. PDLLA-related changes develop over weeks as the tissue response evolves.

Juvelook, explained
Juvelook is a hybrid injectable: non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid supports early hydration, while PDLLA particles are intended to stimulate a gradual tissue-remodelling response.
01 · What it is
PDLLA stands for poly-D,L-lactic acid, a biodegradable polymer used as a collagen biostimulator. Juvelook pairs small PDLLA particles with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA).
The HA component can create early hydration and temporary plumping. The PDLLA component works more slowly: it prompts a controlled tissue response that can support fibroblast activity and new collagen formation as the particles gradually break down.
In plain language: the early “glow” and the later result are not the same phase of treatment.
02 · Useful definitions
Biostimulator
A biostimulator is an injectable material used to encourage the skin’s own remodelling processes rather than relying only on placed gel volume.
Biostimulation
Biostimulation is the biological response that follows—cell signalling, fibroblast activity and gradual extracellular-matrix change, including collagen.
The outcome
The aim is often a subtle improvement in firmness, texture, elasticity and fine lines—not an instant or surgical lift.
03 · Skin firmness
Patients often search for skin tightness or skin tightening. With Juvelook, a more accurate description is gradual improvement in skin firmness, elasticity and surface quality as collagen and elastic fibres remodel.
It does not contract tissue like surgery, and it is not the same as an energy-based tightening device. Results vary with age, skin quality, treatment depth, dose and the number of sessions.
Better promise Skin may feel smoother, springier and more supported over time.
Avoid promising A guaranteed lift, instant tightening or a change in facial anatomy.
04 · Under-eye fine lines
Early studies suggest PDLLA–HA may improve under-eye hydration, elasticity, skin quality and the look of fine lines. That does not mean every dark circle or hollow is a Juvelook concern: pigment, visible vessels, fat pads, fluid retention and bone structure can all contribute.
The under-eye is anatomically delicate. Treatment belongs in the hands of a qualified practitioner experienced in periocular injections, with careful patient selection and a clear plan for complications.
A realistic timeline
Temporary hydration, redness, tiny bumps and swelling can make the skin look different. This is recovery, not the final result.
As the initial swelling is gone, subtle changes in smoothness and skin quality may begin to emerge.
Collagen-related change develops gradually. Your own treatment schedule and review plan matter more than a generic online timeline.
Juvelook and Sculptra
These are not interchangeable rules. Brand, formulation, treatment plane and technique all affect aftercare; follow your injector’s written directions.
Research shelf
The evidence is promising but still developing. Several studies are small, non-randomised or preclinical, so they should inform—not guarantee—expectations.
Preliminary human study · 2023
Sixteen patients received two or three sessions. Investigators reported improvements in fine wrinkles and texture, with increased collagen and elastic fibres on histology. Small sample; no severe adverse events reported.
Prospective cohort · 2026
Fifteen women received three treatments. The study assessed appearance plus elasticity, hydration, skin quality and radiance. Promising, but early evidence from a small uncontrolled cohort.
Clinical study · 2025
A clinical evaluation focused on tear-trough deformity and lower-eyelid rejuvenation. Useful area-specific evidence, though broader and longer-term studies remain important.
Mechanistic study · 2023
An aged-animal-skin model found increased expression of collagen-related markers after PDLLA injection. Mechanistic findings help explain a pathway; they are not the same as clinical outcomes in people.
