Rejuran & Skin Booster Aftercare: Makeup & Washing | MA360

MA360 patient aftercare · Sydney

Rejuran & skin booster aftercare. Keep it simple.

The entry points are tiny and begin sealing quickly, so recovery is usually straightforward. For the first day, the essentials are clean hands, gentle skincare and less touching—not a complicated routine.

Your one-page summary

Three rules for an easy first day.

Rejuran and injectable skin boosters use fine needles or a cannula. The punctures are small, but the treated skin can still be swollen, sensitive and easier to irritate for a short time.

01

Hands off

Do not rub, squeeze, pick or repeatedly check the tiny bumps. Touch only with freshly washed hands when gentle cleansing or skincare is needed.

02

Cleanse gently

Leave the skin alone for the first four hours. That evening, if there is no active oozing, use lukewarm water and a mild cleanser, then pat dry.

03

Pause irritation

Wait until the next morning for makeup. Avoid hard exercise, alcohol and intense heat for 24 hours, and pause retinoids or exfoliating acids for 48–72 hours.

The first 24 hours

A calm timeline you can actually follow.

The exact appearance depends on the product, treatment area, injection technique and your tendency to swell or bruise. Your personalised instructions take priority.

First 4 hours

Leave it alone

Do not wash, apply makeup or massage. If a point oozes, lightly dab it once with clean gauze. A wrapped cool pack can be used briefly without pressure.

That evening

Clean, then pat dry

With clean hands, use a gentle fragrance-free cleanser and lukewarm water. No scrub, cleansing brush or face cloth. Pat dry with a clean towel.

Overnight

Let it settle

Use a clean pillowcase and avoid deliberate pressure on the treated area. Do not squeeze the small raised blebs; they normally soften and flatten on their own.

Next morning

Return gradually

If the skin is dry and calm, apply a plain moisturiser, SPF 50+ and clean makeup gently. Wait longer if points are still weeping, crusted or very irritated.

Recovery

Look at the trend, not one moment.

Mild injection-site reactions should remain stable or gradually improve. Bumps can be more obvious immediately after superficial treatment, particularly around the eyes.

Frequently asked questions

The practical details.

These are conservative general instructions for injectable Rejuran and skin boosters. A “skin booster” is a broad category, so advice may differ by product, treatment area or combination procedure.

01When can I wear makeup?

The simplest rule is to wait until the next morning—about 12 to 24 hours. This avoids applying pigment, brushes or sponges over fresh injection points during the most sensitive period.

If any point is still oozing, crusted, very red or tender, wait longer. When you restart, wash your hands and use clean brushes or sponges. Apply lightly without pressing the bumps.

02When can I wash my face?

Leave the area alone for the first four hours. Later that day, if there is no active bleeding or oozing, wash with clean hands, lukewarm water and a mild fragrance-free cleanser.

Use light pressure. Do not scrub, exfoliate, use a cleansing device or drag a face cloth over the skin. Pat dry with a clean towel.

03Should I keep the skin dry or wet?

You do not need to keep your face completely dry, and you should not keep it deliberately wet or occluded. The tiny punctures begin sealing quickly, but there is no exact closure time that applies to every needle, treatment area and person.

A brief gentle cleanse is appropriate once there is no oozing. Pat dry afterwards. Avoid soaking, steam rooms, swimming and prolonged hot showers during the first 24 hours.

04Can I use moisturiser and sunscreen?

If the skin feels tight, a plain fragrance-free moisturiser can be used once the injection points are dry. Avoid heavily fragranced products and do not cover weeping points with thick occlusive creams unless your clinician advised it.

Use shade and a hat on treatment day. Broad-spectrum SPF 50+ can usually be applied the next morning, or once the entry points are closed and dry.

05When can I restart retinol, vitamin C or exfoliating acids?

Pause retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, benzoyl peroxide and other potentially irritating actives for about 48–72 hours and until redness or sensitivity has settled.

Not every vitamin C formula is irritating, but if it stings, leave it out. Restart products one at a time rather than returning to a full active routine immediately.

06Can I exercise, drink alcohol or have a hot shower?

A brief lukewarm shower is usually fine. For 24 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, saunas, steam rooms, hot baths and other intense heat. These restrictions are precautionary and may help limit flushing, swelling and irritation.

Normal light activity is fine. If the treatment area is still very swollen or bruised the next day, ease back into exercise.

07Should I massage the little bumps?

No—unless your treating clinician specifically asks you to. Small raised blebs are expected with superficial Rejuran or skin booster injections and usually flatten as the product disperses and swelling settles.

Do not squeeze, press or try to “smooth out” individual points. Aftercare for Rejuran is not the same as the massage routine used for some other injectable products.

08How long do bumps, swelling and bruising last?

Small bumps often flatten over the first day or two. Puffiness may be more noticeable the following morning, particularly around the eyes. Bruising can become clearer before it fades and may take several days.

A systematic review of polynucleotide studies described local pain, swelling, redness, itching, bruising and irritation as generally mild and transient, typically resolving within a week. Individual recovery varies.

09Can I have a facial, laser or another skin treatment?

Avoid facial massage, microneedling, waxing, peels, lasers and energy-based procedures until the skin has settled and your clinician has confirmed appropriate timing. One to two weeks is a common minimum interval, but combination plans and treatment areas differ.

Tell every practitioner what was injected, where and when before another procedure.

10Do I need special foods, extra water or supplements?

No special diet or extreme water intake is required. Eat normally and stay comfortably hydrated. Avoid starting supplements or medicines purely to prevent bruising without medical advice.

Do not stop prescribed aspirin, anticoagulants or other medicines unless the prescribing clinician tells you to.

Safety first

When waiting is not the right choice.

If a symptom is becoming stronger rather than settling, please contact us early. A photograph and short conversation can often clarify the next step.

Contact MA360 promptly if you notice:

  • Increasing pain, redness, heat or swelling
  • Pus, fever, blisters, a spreading rash or feeling unwell
  • Persistent pronounced swelling, a growing lump or marked asymmetry
  • Skin becoming white, grey, blue, mottled, cool or unusually painful

Evidence behind the guide

Useful evidence, with honest limits.

Direct clinical trials comparing exact Rejuran aftercare routines are limited. Published evidence is strongest for expected short-term reactions and general injectable skincare principles; several timing rules remain conservative clinical precautions.

This page provides general aftercare information and does not replace an examination, diagnosis or the instructions given for your specific product, technique and treatment area.

Personalised support

Recovery should feel simple—and support should feel close.

If your treating clinician gave different instructions, follow those. If you are uncertain about swelling, bruising, skincare or your next treatment, contact the MA360 team rather than trying to diagnose it yourself.
