Large Xanthelasma Removal on the Upper and Lower Eyelids

Story

This patient presented with large xanthelasma plaques affecting both the upper and lower eyelids. Over time, the yellowish raised deposits had become more noticeable and started to affect the overall appearance of the eye area. Because the lesions were located in such a visible part of the face, the patient felt increasingly self-conscious in close conversation and photographs, and found that the area looked heavier and less refreshed.

The patient wanted the lesions addressed in a way that was suitable for the delicate eyelid skin, while also aiming for a neat cosmetic outcome. After careful assessment, our doctor recommended treatment focused on precise removal of the xanthelasma deposits while preserving as much surrounding normal skin as possible. Around the eyes, this is especially important, as the skin is thin and highly visible, requiring a meticulous approach and scar-minimising technique.

Treatment was planned to target the larger plaques on both the upper and lower lids with attention to detail, so that the area could heal as smoothly as possible and maintain the natural contour of the eyelids. The goal was not only to remove the visible raised deposits, but also to help the eye area appear cleaner, lighter, and less visually weighed down.

Visible Results

After treatment, the prominent xanthelasma lesions on the upper and lower eyelids were visibly reduced and removed, leaving the eye area looking clearer and smoother. With the bulky yellow plaques no longer drawing attention, the eyelids appeared more refined and refreshed. The result helped restore a cleaner eyelid contour and a more natural appearance, with careful technique used to support healing and minimise visible scarring in this delicate area.
