Lip enhancement in Sydney, planned around your face
Lip enhancement is not simply about making lips larger. A considered plan looks at shape, movement and proportion, then asks how much change would still feel like you.
Consultations are available at MA360 in Chatswood and Hurstville. Suitability, options, expected recovery and costs are discussed after an individual medical assessment.

Lip enhancement case studies
These cases show different reasons people seek assessment, from gentle definition to age-related changes in support. The original images are displayed in full.
Subtle fullness and hydration
An early comparison from a plan focused on gentle fullness. Immediate swelling can temporarily influence shape and symmetry.

Softness, shape and support
This case considers changes in border definition and lip support while keeping the lower face and smile in view.

Definition and balanced proportion
A planning example centred on clearer definition and proportion rather than a dramatic change in the face.

Begin with what you want to understand
Shape and definition
The border, Cupid's bow and corners of the mouth can be considered without isolating them from your smile.
Proportion and balance
Upper and lower lip relationships are viewed alongside the nose, teeth, chin and profile.
A subtle change
A conservative or staged plan may suit someone who wants definition without an obvious change in identity.
Change over time
Lip support, surrounding lines, skin quality and dental changes can each alter how the mouth area looks.
Not every lip concern is a question of volume
A lip can appear less defined because of its natural structure, movement, surrounding skin, dental support or changes from previous procedures. Looking only at a front-facing photograph can miss the reason behind the concern.
Assessment includes the lips at rest and while speaking or smiling, the relationship between upper and lower lip, and how the mouth sits within the wider profile. Sometimes the most balanced recommendation is a small, staged change, an alternative pathway or no treatment.
Benefits and trade-offs belong in the same conversation
A 2026 systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised trials found moderate-to-high effectiveness and satisfaction for a commonly used lip-augmentation approach. It also found that adverse effects were common, with swelling, firmness, bruising and tenderness reported most often; severe reactions were uncommon.
Research describes groups, not your individual result. Anatomy, technique, the plan selected and follow-up arrangements remain important. Read the systematic review on PubMed.
A clear process, with room to decide
Describe the change
Explain what you notice, what you like already and what would feel too different.
Review the whole picture
Your medical history, anatomy, facial movement and earlier procedures are assessed.
Compare suitable paths
Expected change, limitations, risks, recovery, alternatives and costs are discussed plainly.
Make your decision
A consultation does not commit you to treatment, and suitability must be confirmed first.
Details that can change the plan
Tell your practitioner about active cold sores, infection, rash or broken skin around the mouth. Allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, significant health conditions and previous complications also need to be discussed.
Bring a complete list of medicines and supplements, and mention planned dental work, surgery, travel or major events. Do not stop prescribed medicine unless the clinician responsible for it has advised you to do so.
Know what is expected and what is not
Temporary swelling, tenderness, redness, bruising, firmness and unevenness can occur. Less common problems include infection, prolonged inflammation, nodules, asymmetry or an outcome you do not like. Rare complications can include compromised blood flow, tissue injury and visual disturbance.
Seek urgent help for warning signs
Contact the clinic immediately for severe or increasing pain, unusual whitening, mottling or darkening of skin, marked coolness or rapidly increasing swelling. Any vision change, eye pain or neurological symptom requires emergency assessment: call 000.
Allow time for early changes to settle
Before the appointment
Share an accurate medical and procedure history. Leave flexibility around work, travel, dental care and events rather than relying on an exact recovery date.
During the first days
Swelling or bruising can temporarily make the lips look fuller or less even. Follow the instructions given for your specific plan and avoid manipulating the area unless advised.
At the right review point
Do not judge symmetry from an immediate result. Attend the recommended review and raise persistent firmness, asymmetry or other concerns directly with the treating clinic.
Over time
Longevity differs between people and approaches. Metabolism, movement, anatomy, lifestyle and the selected plan all influence how the result changes.
