Multipolar radiofrequency
RF energy generates controlled volumetric heat between multiple electrodes. Heating the dermis and underlying tissue creates a repair signal associated with collagen remodelling.
Non-surgical body treatment in Sydney
Venus Legacy is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment for mild to moderate skin laxity, uneven texture and cellulite dimpling. It combines controlled heat, pulsed electromagnetic fields and adjustable suction for the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, arms and lower back.
Treatment feels warm, requires no incisions or anaesthetic and usually does not interrupt daily activities. Results develop gradually over a series. Venus Legacy can refine firmness and contour, but it is not weight loss or a replacement for removing substantial loose skin.
Related case study
This patient wanted clearer abdominal definition while maintaining a stable weight and active lifestyle. The plan combined Emsculpt for muscle conditioning with Venus Legacy to support skin firmness and overall contour.
The case is useful because it shows where Venus Legacy fits: it can complement a broader body plan when muscle tone, skin laxity and contour all contribute to the concern.

A realistic treatment fit
Skin can look looser after pregnancy, weight change or the gradual loss of collagen and elastin with age. Cellulite is different: its dimpled appearance reflects the relationship between skin, connective bands and subcutaneous fat. Venus Legacy is used when controlled heating and mechanical suction may improve how these tissues look and feel.
Venus Legacy does not create the fat-volume reduction of liposuction, remove a large fold of redundant skin or build abdominal muscle. It is also not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for nutrition and exercise.
When the main concern is localised fat, muscle definition or substantial excess skin, a different technology or surgical opinion may be more appropriate. Identifying that difference early helps avoid an expensive treatment that cannot meet the goal.
How the technology works
The applicator is moved over a layer of treatment gel while temperature and comfort are monitored. Each component plays a different role.
RF energy generates controlled volumetric heat between multiple electrodes. Heating the dermis and underlying tissue creates a repair signal associated with collagen remodelling.
Low-level electromagnetic pulses are delivered through the applicator alongside RF. They are part of the platform's combined energy design.
Adjustable pulsed suction draws tissue toward the electrodes and provides mechanical massage. Intensity is changed according to the area and tolerance.
Evidence in context
A systematic review of radiofrequency skin tightening indexed on PubMed found measurable improvement in facial and body skin laxity with a generally acceptable complication profile. The authors also highlighted differences between devices, protocols and study designs.
Small studies of multipolar RF with pulsed magnetic fields have reported improvement in cellulite and skin appearance, often after six to eight sessions. Larger independent trials would strengthen certainty.
Published improvement is typically modest. Photographs, circumference and satisfaction scores cannot promise how one person's tissue will respond.
The technology is usually studied as repeated sessions rather than a single treatment. Changes can continue to evolve after the course finishes.
Ageing and weight changes continue. Some people choose occasional maintenance once the initial response has been reviewed.
Body treatment areas
Applicator choice, treatment time and suction level change with the size, contour and sensitivity of the area.
For mild laxity, surface texture and contour support after weight change or pregnancy.
Often selected where cellulite dimpling and reduced firmness occur together.
For mild crepiness or looseness when surgical skin removal is not required.
Used to support smoother texture and a more continuous body contour.
What treatment feels like
Session length depends on the body area and whether more than one zone is treated. Around 30 to 45 minutes per area is common, but your appointment may be shorter or longer.
The clinician checks the degree of laxity, cellulite pattern, skin sensation, circulation, implanted devices, medical history and what you want to change. Baseline photographs may be taken consistently for comparison.
Gel is applied and the handpiece moves continuously as the tissue warms. Suction can feel like a rhythmic massage. Temperature is monitored and the setting should remain tolerable rather than painful.
A course often involves six to eight weekly sessions, although the schedule is individual. Progress is judged after the series because collagen-related changes and contour refinement take time.
Choosing the right approach
The best option depends on whether the main issue is lax skin, cellulite, fat volume, muscle tone or a combination.
| Treatment | Main target | Typical course | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venus Legacy | Mild laxity, cellulite appearance and surface contour. | Usually a series of warm, non-invasive sessions. | Does not produce major fat loss or remove excess skin. |
| Laser body tightening | Skin tightening and selected localised fat concerns. | Protocol varies with wavelength, area and objective. | Different heat source and tissue interaction from multipolar RF. |
| Muscle stimulation | Muscle conditioning and visible definition. | A programmed series with maintenance according to goals. | Targets muscle rather than primarily treating skin laxity. |
| Surgical body contouring | Substantial loose skin, tissue repositioning or larger contour change. | A surgical procedure with anaesthetic and recovery. | More powerful structural change with greater risk and downtime. |
Safety and suitability
Most people resume normal activities after treatment, but temporary redness, warmth, tenderness, swelling or suction-related bruising can occur. Pain, blistering or a burn is not an expected endpoint and should be reported promptly.
