Skin Booster
aftercare.

Many tiny injection points. A few simple steps to care for them.

Keep your skin clean, leave the little bumps alone and know when to ask for help.

General care after injectable Skin Booster treatment. Products and techniques differ: follow the written instructions for your own treatment if they differ from this guide.

01 · Your everyday care

Three things to remember.

01

Leave the points alone.

Wash your hands before touching your face. Do not pick, squeeze or massage the bumps unless your clinician has specifically shown you what to do.

02

Give makeup a break.

Avoid makeup immediately after treatment and for several hours. Leaving it off for the rest of the day is a reasonable precaution. Follow any longer interval advised for your treatment. Do not apply makeup to open, bleeding or oozing points.

03

Keep skincare gentle.

Use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser as advised, without rubbing or scrubbing. Pause products that sting while your skin is irritated. Resume your usual routine when your skin is comfortable and your clinician says it is suitable.

Sun, heat and your usual activities

Protect treated skin from prolonged sun exposure and use suitable sunscreen as advised. Ask your clinician when to resume strenuous exercise, saunas and steam rooms, and before planned dental work or another skin treatment. Do not delay urgent dental care.

There is no single timetable for every Skin Booster. Timing depends on the product, injection technique and your recovery. Any longer precautions in your individual instructions still apply.

02 · What you may notice

Little bumps can happen.

Small raised bumps, redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising can occur after multiple injections. They should gradually improve; there is no guaranteed time for every bump to disappear.

Do not try to flatten the bumps yourself. Contact us if they are not improving, persist beyond a week, or return after settling. New or delayed lumps also need review.

Worsening pain or unusual skin colour changes need immediate assessment. Do not wait for a routine review.

03 · Support and safety

Know when to act.

Urgent assessment now

Unusual or worsening pain, or skin becoming white, grey, blue, mottled or unusually cool, needs immediate medical assessment—even without severe pain.

Call MA360 immediately. If we cannot arrange immediate assessment, go to the nearest emergency department. Do not wait until the clinic reopens or try to treat it yourself.

Emergency · call 000

Sudden vision changes, difficulty breathing, tongue or throat swelling, or stroke symptoms such as face drooping, arm weakness or trouble speaking.

Call 000 first. Say you recently had a Skin Booster injection and give the product name if known. Do not drive yourself.

Need advice about your recovery?

Increasing redness, warmth, discharge, fever or worsening swelling needs same-day advice. If the clinic is unavailable, seek same-day medical care.

04 · Find the right information

Keep your care connected.

Advice can differ between injectable products. Choose the guide that matches your treatment and follow your clinician’s individual instructions.

05 · Sources

Clear guidance, with context.

  1. McDonald et al. (2025): skincare around injectable treatments — PubMed ↗
An Australian expert consensus supporting gentle skincare and practical makeup precautions after injectable treatments. This is expert guidance, not a trial proving one aftercare timetable for every Skin Booster.

Research on exact aftercare timings is limited. The simple steps above are general precautions and do not replace the instructions for the product used in your treatment.
