Clearer, Brighter & More Even-Looking Skin for Melasma-Prone Skin

Story

This patient came to Medical Aesthetics 360° concerned about long-standing melasma pigmentation and uneven skin tone across the cheeks. Because her natural skin tone is slightly darker, the pigmentation appeared more noticeable and difficult to cover, especially under different lighting.

She shared that over time, the pigmentation gradually became more visible and patchier, making the skin look dull and uneven. Like many patients with melasma concerns, she was worried about the pigmentation becoming darker or harder to manage in the future.

After a detailed consultation, Dr Chun-Yen Huang explained that melasma management often requires a gentle and gradual approach, particularly for darker skin types where excessive heat or aggressive treatment may trigger further pigmentation. Based on her skin condition, a tailored treatment plan using Piconano laser treatment in Sydney was recommended.

The treatment focused on delivering controlled and gentle laser energy to help target pigmentation while supporting overall skin clarity and tone. Multiple sessions were performed progressively to help minimise uneven pigmentation, brighten the complexion, and maintain skin balance over time. Rather than aiming for an overly aggressive result, the approach focused on achieving a more natural-looking improvement while respecting the skin barrier and reducing the risk of rebound pigmentation.

Visible Results

  • Melasma pigmentation appears lighter
  • Skin tone looks more even and balanced
  • Complexion appears brighter and clearer
  • Patchy pigmentation appears reduced
  • Overall skin quality looks smoother and more refreshed
