From Scars to Smooth, Scar and Pigment Treatment for Healing Skin
Story
This patient came to Medical Aesthetics 360° after experiencing an unfortunate reaction to a skin treatment performed in her hometown. The treatment had left her with burns and scarring on her face, and as the scars healed, pigmentation began to form. She felt self-conscious about the texture of her skin and the uneven skin tone that resulted from the damage. After struggling to find a solution in her hometown, she sought professional help in Sydney to address these concerns and restore her complexion.
During her consultation, Dr Chun-Yen Huang performed a thorough skin assessment and recommended a multi-step treatment approach that would address both the scarring and pigmentation. To treat the scars, Fractional Erbium laser full-face treatment was suggested. This laser treatment works by delivering precise energy to the skin, stimulating collagen production to improve the texture and appearance of the scar tissue. It helps resurface the skin, softening the scarring and refining the skin’s overall appearance.
For the pigmentation that had started to form, Sciton BBL (BroadBand Light) laser treatment was recommended. BBL is known for its ability to target and lighten dark spots while improving skin tone and texture. This non-invasive treatment is designed to enhance the skin’s overall radiance, leaving it looking clearer and more even.
The treatment plan was designed to be gentle yet effective, allowing for gradual improvement with minimal downtime. After several sessions, the patient noticed visible improvements in the texture of her skin, the reduction in scarring, and a much more even skin tone. She was thrilled to see the results, not only did her scars improve, but the skin was more refined, smooth, and even-toned, with less visible pigmentation
